Dialogue on Fire is a journey into difficult and provocative subjects such as social injustice, race, and civil disobedience within the context of art. What other expression — other than destruction — can we have when we feel powerless and when we feel our voice is unheard? Tom Neff explored with his Hasselblad the horrific aftermath of the 1992 Rodney King riots which devastated Los Angeles, crossing police lines to capture the fiery destruction.
Tom Neff is an Oscar nominated documentary filmmaker who has been photographing abstracts, portraits, and surreal images since the early 1970’s. He is currently an Assistant Professor, teaching film, video, and media management in the Media Arts department at Middle Tennessee State University.
The Baldwin Photographic Gallery at Middle Tennessee State University is open Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m when classes are in session.
